A forbidden love affair in the past has led Hope Robinson, a middle school principal, to Harbor Bay, Florida, where she commits herself to play by the rules. This can be difficult for a perpetual klutz, who—even strapped in a cast—has to uphold a competent attitude at all times.

Luckily, she has Dr. Colin Calaway on her side, a widower and father of a student, who is ready to give love another try. When Colin convinces Hope they should explore the connection between them, a steamy romance develops, though it could destroy them both. Sneak Peek Sunday--A Cowboy To Keep

A bunch of authors have gotten together to showcase our work! Here is mine, from A Cowboy To Keep:

His stomach growled, and he passed through a drive-up taco place, buying three burritos and a coke. Restless, he turned toward Black Mountain, but after two blocks, he spun a u-turn. There was something he wanted to see.

Exactly sixty-two miles out of town, he turned off the highway onto a narrow, dirt track and followed it. The bumpy, unkempt road jarred his teeth, but he pressed on. When he almost ran out of road, he spotted a tiny, silver trailer laying half on its side. Parking nearby, he got out and walked to it.

Scattered trash littered the area, and a rusted washing machine sat upside down. Close up, the trailer was worse than he remembered. If there had ever been tires, someone had ripped them from the axles long ago. The glass in the windows had been smashed out and the door ripped from the hinges. He stuck his head in and nearly passed out. Some animal had made its home inside, and the stench of feces was nearly unbearable. Cody forced himself to endure the terrible odor and stared at the remains of his home.

If possible, the interior looked worse than the outside. All of the cabinets had been stripped from the walls, and the fruit jars his mother once drank from were left in broken shards. Had the trailer always been this small?

He backed away, his hands stuffed deep in his pockets. A cold wind blew across his neck, causing an involuntary shiver to race down his spine. He turned in a slow circle. On all sides, massive red cliffs towered. When he was a child, there had been two or three other trailers out here, and Sally Inez had lived in the worst one of all, a dump down the hill.

Not for the first time, he wondered how he had survived his lonely existence out here. No one had ever paid him any mind, not giving a good damn if he went to school, had something to eat, or if he froze to death in his bed. What had kept him going was a strong will to survive. If Benito Torres hadn’t seen him hanging around the rodeo grounds one day and taken him home, he knew he’d be dead and buried. He owed the old man his life.

Blurb:  After Laney Ellis’ husband is killed by a bull, she is left to run their small cattle ranch and raise their son, Justin, on her own. He finds his chance when world champion bull rider Cody Utah moves in next door.
Although attraction between Cody and Laney flares, neither act upon it. Laney refuses to get her family involved with another bull rider, and Cody has heard rumors Laney trapped Wyatt, her late husband, into a high school marriage by getting pregnant. The last thing Cody wants is children.
At a rodeo, Justin is thrown and knocked unconscious. As Justin lays in the hospital, Cody begs Laney to forgive him. He realizes he loves her enough to discourage Justin from the sport. Will Laney let Cody into their lives? Will Justin ride again?
